When you no longer wake up to the smell of freshly brewed coffee,

When you unlock the door to an empty home sans a happy face and a welcoming smile,

When you tearfully look at that familiar bindi on the mirror,

When you see a pair of shoes missing,

A forgotten kurti,

When the kitchen becomes all too strange like never before,

When yesterday’s sambhar replaces piping hot kooTu,

When the window looks bare,

With no one waving from behind the curtains,

When a little something from somewhere tugs at your heart like never before,

Those obscure nooks filled with treasures,

Of laughter, dancing and chatter

When you don’t scram from office to run home,

You know that your mother has left for her other home.

You almost had me there, girl! Separations and reunions keep happening. They are part of life.

Thank you Zephyr.. it is a very grounded perspective. Hard to maintain that objectivity when I get to involved.. But am much better now. After a zillion phonecalls and assured facetime-s 😛

There are so many people who fill our life at various points of time but no one stays with us throughout our life. Strange, right?
Take care. How will you meet again if you don’t separate? 🙂

    • kismitoffeebar · October 28, 2013
