Day 15: The best

the best

That night when K and I shifted to a new home together after our wedding, I wanted to take charge, and do some simple ceremonies (boiling the milk till it overflows being on of them). The gas connection was due the next day only. To our luck, the plug of the induction stove did not match the socket. We ran to a 24 hr store quite far away and K fixed it but not without an episode of short circuit. And then we realized that the milk failed to boil and spill over. We tried with the limited utensils we had and finally realized that the vessel meant to be used hadn’t been tried. Even then, the milk boiled furiously and while we prayed hard, just a few drops spurted over. The ecstasy we felt at 4 A.M. in the morning after having stayed awake all night to do this – unparalleled. Easily one of the best nights ever.

Folks folks folks! Happy Independence day πŸ™‚ I was grumpy in the morning for not being able to sing a patriotic song at the university assembly like before 😦 And that awesome kesari bath and upma and jalebis. Sigh!

A very Happy Independence Day to you too Toffee.
Wow! quite an experience just to make milk boil over, when it obliges on most days much against our will πŸ˜‰
