Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! Here I am π Hope all of you have been safe and merry what with Christmas and New Year so close. I am raring to read all of what has been happening whenΒ I was away –
Nearly 3 weeks.
2 days and 3 nights packed with sight seeing and road touringΒ in Sri Lanka in 3 cities dripping of culture and heritage – Kandy, Negombo and Colombo.
One hectic, sleep deprived (K would say otherwise), crazy scheduled but an awesome, bright and colourful, …. err. lets just say, a family wedding. That would explain a lot more than the words in my lexicon.
Meeting papa. Even if for a couple of days. And missing Ma and Chintu.
Multiple and by that I mean, many many shopping trips. Cue happy contented face. Ah.
Getting up and close with a totally different culture through the wedding and loving it.
Learning how beautiful diversity is and being thankful for it.
Almost giving in to madness to stand up and dance during the flight. 5 hours and I complain. And I want to touch the North Pole and South Pole.
Eating. Different dishes. Different cooks. Humongous scary proportions, especially of rasmalai. And washing everything off with heavenly masala chai.
Extensive road trips in Orissa. Meeting people. Visiting villages and meeting artists. Clicking away to glory. Loving history.
Learning the beauty of mustard and the wonders it does to a dish. Falling in love with Bengali food.
Gorging on gupchups endlessly. Entertaining people in return.
Being welcomed by the most beautiful hues of sarees. Expanding my prized collection.
Catching up with K’s undergrad friends. Realizing all over again that I am super lucky to have K with me. Thank God!!!!!!!!!
Going to remote villages away from the destination just to try a popular local sweet.
And I haven’t even begun.
Wait till you hear all about it π
Ok. Start with Sri Lanka. Then Orissa. Then West Bengal. I hope you didn’t stay in Hilton during this trip. Otherwise, you might be determined to break your own longest-post record describing every inch of the hotel π
